Welcome to the Conn lab

Welcome to the Conn lab website! We’re a group of biologists at Berry College who study parasitic plants from multiple perspectives, with a special emphasis on genetics. Caitlin Conn is the PI; you can find her CV here.

On this site, you can find an overview of the lab’s research and related teaching activities. We’d love to hear from you if you have questions, comments, or an interest in working together. Contact information for the lab can be found at the bottom of this page.

Statement on diversity: Our lab, and Dr. Conn’s classes, seek to amplify diverse voices and explore the multitude of ways in which diverse people and cultures interact with biology. Furthermore, we recognize that diversity strengthens science and enables us to address questions and solve problems in innovative ways. In this lab and in Dr. Conn’s classes, we will respect ourselves and one another by honoring our own and others’ stories, experiences, and ideas. Everyone’s voice is welcome , which means that actively sharing our own perspectives and quietly listening to others’ are critically important. Disrespect and/or dismissal of others will not be tolerated in the lab or classroom. As individuals and a society, we are all still learning how to fully appreciate and honor diversity, so if you identify ways in which we can do better, please feel free to let us know. Whoever you are, your experience, values, and ideas are important!
